Woodhill Primary School

This week Reception visited the Woodlands Farm Trust. They were so excited to meet all of the animals at the farm. They met Bob the pony, sheep, pigs, cows, chickens and a guinea pig. They were able to view the piglets and lambs who were sheltering inside and develop their understanding of life cycles. They used their directional skills to follow a map to find the clues and complete the stickman trail. "We need to go right! The stickman is next to the birdhouse!" said Olivia. The children collected their own stickmen on the way. "Look it's a dog." said Brodie. "It's a dancing stickman!" said Adrian.

In Maths Reception have been exploring capacity. They have been ordering cups from empty to full and using mathematical vocabulary to identify capacity. At the end of the week we had a tea party and used our knowledge of capacity and sharing.
