IQM Award 2017/18 - 2020/21
On Tuesday we were incredibly proud to receive our Inclusion Quality Mark award and be graded as a Centre of Excellence. This is a landmark achievement for the school, one of very few across the country that are recognised on their first assessment as a Centre of Excellence. In order to achieve this award we had to demonstrate our commitment to inclusive practice during a 2-day review of the school. Following this the reviewers then had to evaluate all the evidence presented and we are very humbled with their decision to award us the second highest status. Some of their comments on our school include:
‘The pupils who attend Woodhill are fortunate to belong to such an inclusive school. They are happy children who are respected and valued.’
‘The Executive Leadership Team (ELT) has worked hard to ensure that children and staff respect each other, the behaviour of the children is a strength of the school. They understand how to listen to each other’
‘Children who have certain needs are very well supported by the school and parents highly praised the school’s practice. The staff work tirelessly to ensure their needs are met and the families feel reassured. The professionalism of the staff is highly valued and appreciated by the community who feel that children are fully supported in accessing all that the school has to offer.’
We would also like to thank the parents who met or spoke with the reviewer during their time with us in July. A copy of the full report is available HERE.
